I finally got a chance to go and see District 9 tonight, and it was really good. I wasn't totally sure what to expect, beyond what I'd seen in the trailers, and it was different, and good different.
It was made even more interesting by the fact that I'm currently reading Hannah Arendt's book, Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil. The movie's beginning and main character, Wikus van de Merwe, left me thinking back to Ardent's ideas again and again, especially in his diligent and enthusiastic enforcement of policies and rules.
I recommend both.
