I have a hard time taking Brad Pitt seriously. I'm sure that means there's something lacking in me, that I've committed some sort of sin against the contemporary world. I'm just not sure what other response I can have to a man who says things like this:
The Second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino, "Basterds" director] put a cover on that pot. With ‘Basterds,' everything that can be said to this genre has been said. The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story.
So perhaps I'll avoid "Basterds" so as to prolong the possibility of WWII still having something to say to me.
